Pioneer Automobiles was founded by Jim Thompson 45 years ago. He built up the business over the years with a reputation for interesting good quality classic cars at affordable prices.
Jim retired in October 2010 and sold the business to Pioneer Autos Limited, a company owned and run by Mark and Dee Furneaux. Jim continues to advise the business in his new role as a consultant and will be seen at Gidley Farm from time to time.
The Pioneer Automobiles showroom is located just off Junction 13 of the M4, about 1 hour from Heathrow or Southampton airports and less than 2 hours from Birmingham and Gatwick. The Severn Bridge can be reached in about 1 hour.
Enjoy the relaxed atmosphere. We do viewings by appointment on Monday through Friday and on Saturday; we are closed on Sundays. At your viewing appointment you will be able to discuss your prospective purchase on a one to one basis, feeling free to express your delights and disappointments out of the Vendor's earshot. Bona fide customers may test drive the vehicle of their choice but should bring their driving license with them.
Once inspection is complete, you are not faced with a hectic few minutes of public competition, as at auction, so can make your offer in the same relaxed mode. A non-refundable deposit will secure a vehicle. We take most major debit and credit cards. You are always welcome to return if more time is needed.
